SERPs Reviews

SERPs – A Review is a Portland-based company, run by a tight team of SEO specialists who designed a strong software with the goal of applying the research and analysis of keywords ranking into creating the best SEO strategies.

Even at a first glance, it’s obvious that this is a powerful tool, invaluable when it comes to search engine optimization and keyword rank tracking. But, what’s under the colloquial hood?

We decided to check it out for you and determine the quality-price ratio, as well as the range and performance level of the features offers.

Range of features 9/10 really has an abundance of features. It’s completely customizable and gives you the opportunity to arrange your data in any way you want.

This is especially convenient, as it allows you to see right away only the information you deem crucial.

The primary tools Serps. com offers are:

  • keyword rank tracker, for global and local tracking
  • keyword research database
  • Google location changer, for spot checking global and local rankings

The main features of are:

  • keyword tagging
  • keyword research database
  • bulk rank checker
  • rank index chart
  • white labeling and custom domain creating
  • Google Analytics integration
  • SEO tests
  • backlink explorer
  • Google sheets add-on
  • simple and clear dashboards
  • reporting API
  • SERPs data lab – building of custom reports

The company’s motto is “Track thousands of keywords for multiple search engines and languages, on multiple devices, from multiple locations, every day.”

It sounds like a mouthful and like a dream come true, all at the same time, but, the question is – can they deliver on their promises?

This company’s major selling points are:

  • displaying results to the 250th position
  • local tracking – by country, city or zip code
  • access to it on all devices – desktop, mobile or tablet
  • daily rankings data updates
  • Google and Yahoo rankings available in over 400 different country/language combinations

The lack of access to data regarding the rankings on Bing, a very popular search engine, is a major oversight. And, although is efficient and accurate, this omission is a potential downfall.

On the other hand, it does offer tracking in different countries and languages. It’s impossible to find a program that will be a one-fit-all kind of a software, so you will have to determine what your priorities are, and choose accordingly.

Tool performance 9/10

Going back to our first question, how does it work and how do you use it, the answer is – relatively easy.

Now, we say relatively, because it will take some training and knowledge to be able to fully utilize all the features and possibilities this software offers.

You can not only track keywords and website ranking, but also invite other people to check your data. Apart from that, you can set up a restricted client account, or upload your own logo.

That’s not all! You can set up a login on your custom domain, use API, use the iPhone and Android application, and so much more.

To get a firm grasp of some of these features, you might need some practice. But, for the basic keyword and website rank tracking, the process is pretty self-explanatory.

Getting started

Getting started is no hard task. You get a 30-day free trial and you’ll automatically become a paying customer if you don’t cancel it within the month.

This is an excellent option, as it gives you the opportunity to really test out all the features. is a bit pricey, so you might want to take advantage of this before committing.

To begin your rank tracking journey, once logged in, you will have to add a project (or more, depending on your needs).

This is how the starting page looks like, with no information. The first step is, as we mentioned, to add a new project.

You can choose between two options when adding a new project. You can add sites from Google Analytics or add a single site manually. For our trial run, we’ve added just one website.

Keyword input and research

Step two is, of course, adding keywords. This is how your dashboard looks with a website added.

You can choose to research keywords, more specifically, get keyword ideas from multiple sources around the web. Or you can just add your own keywords.

When you click on the “research keywords” button, you will open the so-called “Keywordini.” really loves their pop-culture references, you have to hand it to them.

Once you are in the “Keywordini,” you can input one or more keywords for reference. The feature will then give you some suggestions on what other keywords you might consider using.

It will also give you data on search volume, cost per click and keyword value for each suggested keyword.

This is a great, and fun, option for beginners or people who don’t really know what keywords their site is ranking for or should rank for.

Although this feature is cute, it might be better to just have an automatic suggestion box next to the box for keyword input. That way, it would be more transparent, faster and more accessible. Still, it’s a good option to have.

Alternatively, you can just add your own keywords by clicking the “add keywords” button.

There is a choice of options when adding keywords. You can choose to track keywords:

  • globally, in all locations, or locally
  • in Google or Yahoo
  • on PC, mobile or tablet device

You can also choose to upload your list of keywords in a CVS or Excel file, with a maximum input of 5000 keywords.

Data gathering

Once you’ve done all that, the program will start gathering data. This process can be a bit lengthy, so we’ve left it to “brew” overnight.

If you choose not to do that, you might be looking at this for a while:

While your keyword status is pending, you can switch between tracking globally, for all locations, or you can insert a city or a zip code if you are more interested in tracking locally.

This is especially convenient for small, local businesses that want to reach their target audience from the neighborhood.

Keyword overview

Once all the initial data has been gathered, you will be presented with a list of your keywords, and a variety of information regarding each of them.

Next to each keyword you can see the information on the last 30 days of organic traffic on Google, estimated global traffic volume and estimated cost-per-click.

This dashboard allows you to view the daily, weekly and monthly changes in the rankings for each keyword, which facilitate tracking the progress of your SEO strategy.

With just one glance, you can determine which changes are working and which aren’t, based on this overview of keyword ranking, and adjust your strategy accordingly.

You can also mark certain keywords as favorite, thus allowing a quicker and more clear overview.

Other than that, the keyword list offers an abundance of additional information and customization options.

With a single click, you can choose to view:

  1. organic traffic or maps, separately or combined,
  2. results for desktop, mobile or tablet devices,
  3. rankings in Google or Yahoo, and
  4. rankings in all locations or nationally

Options of further specification are also at your disposal. All you have to do is select one or more keywords, and the program will present to you what precisely can be done in order to gather more distinct data.

You can track selected keywords in an additional search engine country, tag selected keywords and track selected keywords in an additional city or zip code.

When all your specifications are done, you will start to get a clear picture of what your rankings are. To make this even easier, the program will present it to you in a clear graph that holds the most crucial information.

On this graph, you can see how many of your keywords are in top 10, top 3 and in number 1 spots.

Reports and commentary also allows you to send personalized reports. You can program them to be automated, brand them with your logo and send them in CVS or PDF format. An added bonus is that you can add your commentary to them.

Just click on the report button and select your preferred option.

And finally, another handy feature is the verification of the rank position. At the end of the day, you have to know if the rankings are accurate, or if somebody’s pulling your leg.

That’s why has an option of automatic rank verification. You just need to hover with your cursor over a specific keyword and the words “View in Google” will appear.

When you click on that, you will be forwarded to the Google search list ranking for that keyword, and you can see for yourself where your website ranks.

Not all programs have this option, so it is a nice bonus. Still, it doesn’t hurt to mention that some other rankers usually highlight your position on these lists, for transparency and time-efficiency. doesn’t have the highlight option, but it still gets the job done, when it comes to verification.

Dashboard customization

Now, back to the dashboard. You see, if you connect your Google Analytics profile with your account, the options are endless.

With it’s easy to create a new layout of your dashboard, customized to your needs.

The default or typical dashboard, with all the information added to it, might look something like this:

But, as mentioned, you can play with it and adjust it to your needs.

You can remove, add or clear all widgets. The default ones are:

  • 1-day organic overview
  • 7-day organic overview
  • organic share
  • unique backlinks
  • total backlinks
  • domain authority

You can change them by clicking on the “Add Widget” button.

Furthermore, you can choose what the new widget displays – rankings, analytics or links data.

You can also move the widgets around, and create a display that pleases you not only practically but aesthetically as well.

Every widget has a gear icon in the right corner that you can click on to edit or change the settings of that particular widget.

When it comes to changing the layout itself, you can manipulate everything, until you get the desired effect. For example, you can change the date range for which you are analyzing the data.

You can add new layouts, if you need multiple views.

And you can, of course, connect your Google Analytics account, or multiple accounts, with one click!

Additional features

At your disposal, you also have the options of backlink explorer,

Google sheets add-ons, and conducting your own SEO tests. As claims (and they’re right), tracking just one variable will not give you the clear picture of whether or not your SEO strategy is working.

With a account, you can set up a correlation test in just 2 minutes, by clicking on the “Tests” button.

That way, you can closely monitor the data and find out what tweaks you need to make in your future strategy. The testing platform will track your selected keywords as well as the changes in the organic traffic, thus allowing you to prove your tactics is working.

Here’s an example of how that looks:

This is a feature of great benefit to agencies and specialists, who need to prove their worth to their clients or bosses.

However, this can prove to be one of the more complicated features that we mentioned at the beginning of our review. If you are a first-time user or a beginner when it comes to SEO and rank tracking it might be difficult to grasp, at first.

Accuracy 9/10 is considered to be very accurate, especially, when it comes to local tracking.

Sometimes, the local ranking is more important than the national or global one. If you are a business owner, you’ll want to attract the customers in your area, so it’s crucial that you manage to rank high in the local searches. will track any time your website shows up in a “local-pack”. Local packs are triggered when users search for a local service like a florist, or a plumber. These local listings will be stored next to your organic rankings, for a more transparent overview.

User-friendliness 6/10

As we mentioned in a couple of instances during our review, is somewhat of a user-friendly tool.

It requires prior knowledge, which indicates that an absolute beginner might struggle with it, at least at first. It takes time and training to be able to get a grasp on all the features in order to utilize them to their maximum extent.

However, has a mobile application, available for iPhone and Android, that will allow you to check your rankings on the go. This improves their user-friendly status immensely, as it is a rare feature.

Customer support 7/10 has a “Helpdesk” page on their website, with frequently asked questions and terms listed in alphabetical order.

It doesn’t, however, have a live chat support. So, if you have additional questions or unexpected problems, you may contact them via email or by submitting a ticket on their help page.

Pricing 6/10

While it can’t be denied that goes above and beyond to satisfy the needs of their clients, the steep price is still an eyesore.

Although, you can say that, this being a tool often recommended to professional SEO specialists and agencies with a large client base, the price isn’t that high, when put in perspective.

Also, it’s not necessarily built for beginners, either.

This company offers three different pricing packages, which can be considered as a disadvantage, as it reduces the scalability. If you get the small package and your company and client base grow over time, there’s only one more package available. Not a lot of options there.

In summary

Final ranking: 7.7/10 has a wide range of features, that allow you to view and analyze every aspect of search engine optimization.

This web-based program has daily updates and additional features, that can make your SEO strategy impeccable. As you know, this can prove invaluable in today’s market, so a steeper price might be worth it.

Overall, this program might be a better fit for agencies that need a comprehensive and accurate tool than for the end users.

The advantages are:

  • precise local tracking
  • Google Analytics integration
  • 30-day free trial
  • keyword research database
  • SEO testing
  • available on all devices, plus on an app
  • unlimited domains and users (just the keywords are limited in number)
  • available in different languages
  • displaying results to the 250th position

The disadvantages or just some downfalls you might want to consider before committing to a payment are:

  • the lack of access to the data on Bing ranking
  • potentially problematic to understand for beginners
  • takes a while to gather initial data
  • high price
  • bulk uploading can be difficult
  • users sometimes have difficulty understanding the terminology

In summary, this is a mighty tool when it comes to SEO strategizing and rank tracking, but, it might not be for everyone. We had fun giving it a test drive, now it’s your turn to decide if it’s the right fit for you.
